A LIttle Bit about Tom Folino....
CIREC
From a young age Tom combined his love for community and sports by coaching teams in Little League Baseball, the Youth Recreation Soccer program, and the Youth Basketball League. Tom ran a summer basketball camp at Warwick High School for ages 8-15 for 14 years before retiring from coaching, he was founder and director of the Warwick AAU Basketball program and the Warwick High School Boy's Basketball Hall of Fame. It’s no surprise that Tom graduated with a B.S. with Honors in Physical Education and Health from Slippery Rock University. He then went on to receive his M.S. from Montclair University with a degree in Sports Administration.
It is also no surprise that Tom chose to teach in the Warwick Valley Central School District, where he was highly respected as both a teacher and coach. He was the Boys Varsity Basketball Head Coach for 20 years, Varsity Football Assistant for 15 years and the Boys Varsity Golf Head Coach. After 37 years with the WVCS District, Tom retired from teaching in 2014 and from coaching in 2017
Tom’s interest in real estate came from his own personal experiences. When buying and selling his own homes throughout the years, Tom found that he actually enjoyed the process – from obtaining financing to negotiating the best deals, and everything else involved! After retiring from teaching, Tom decided to pursue real estate full time, motivated by a desire to help people sell their houses and find homes they’d love within this community he knows so well. From his long and distinguished career in Education, he brings the same enthusiasm, dedication, and professionalism to his real estate career. His main goal is to place his clients’ needs and desires first. And his first-hand knowledge of the importance of a quality school system to a community, as well as his knowledge of Warwick and its many neighborhoods and villages, are definite assets.
Tom has been married to his beautiful wife, Nancy, for 34 years. Nancy is a Director of Nursing at Garnett Health in Middletown, NY. Tom and Nancy have two sons, both graduates of the Warwick Valley Central School system. Thomas, their eldest son, just completed his residency in Anesthesia at Lagone Hospital in New York and is now finishing up his Pain Management fellowship at Northwell Hospital in Long Island, NY. He will be starting his new career in 2023. Youngest son, Tyler, graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, and his Master’s Degree in Real Estate Development at Columbia University. He works for DeGraw and DeHann Architect firm.
When asked why he chose the Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate - Green Team to work with, Tom said that was easily answered in two words: “Geoff Green.” It seems that Tom coached Geoff some years ago and even then was impressed by the young man’s incredible work ethic, perseverance, and leadership skills. So now we have a former coach and former player … together on the same team again!
